I've had this live Yardbirds CD on my want-list for like ever-and-a day now. Gig recorded live as a digital broadcast on July 19, 2006 at the B. B. King Blues Club in New York City. Since this band was one of my favorite British collectives of my youth, I obviously gave the disc a number of spin(s) before finally putting it up. Tunes that I couldn't get enough of were the suitable opener - the Man / Bradshaw-penned "Train Kept A Rollin'", "Drinking Muddy Water", the awesome "Heart Full Of Soul", the Michael Hugg-penned "Mr. You're A Better Man Than I", "Shapes Of Things" [truly brilliant], one of my all-time '60's favorites "Over Under Sideways Down" and "For Your Love". Also digging the heartfelt "Still I'm Sad", "Dazed And Confused", Bo Diddley's "I'm A Man" and the rocking well-delivered "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago". Wanted to be sure to mention the handful of songs the band played from their 2003 'Birdland' CD - "Please Don't Tell Me 'Bout The News", "Crying Out For Love", the so-so "Mr. Saboteur" and "Mystery Of Being". Even noticed the set included a Box Of Frogs track "Back Where I Started". Duration - 78:50. Other must-hear Yardbirds discs - 'Where The Action Is' 2-CD, 'Yardbirds '68' 2-CD, 'Making Tracks' CD / DVD, 'Live In France' and the essential 'Live & Rare' 4-CD / DVD box set. Highly recommended.
