Epic work for those interested in traditional muzzleloading, especially caplocks. This is the magnum opus of percussion rifle books. Worth every penny.Nice book but it’s sold as new but was missing the sealed plastic wrapping from the manufacture. This book had defiantly been handled before.I had had a copy previously but could not find it! Lent? The book was essential for references about the history of long ranger shooting as well as the development of the rifle itself. Great historical story about Alvin York.Invaluable edition to my libraryThis is an incredible history of these guns. The original was a larger format and thus easier to see the photos, but the feats of these early shooters is beyond my imagination and most without optics. I loaned my original copy and never got it back and I'm glad that I was able to replace it with this copy. There is a lot of information in this book.if you shoot black powder you will like this bookVery interesting book for cap and ball shooters. Great stories and loads of information on the history of black powder shooting. This is a great re-print of a book which I had been after since I saw the earlier Leather Bound edition. A great book for anyone interested in rifles and shooting thru the agesAll goodI have wanted to buy this book for a long time, and Amazon recently had the hardcover version on sale for $12!!!If you love gun history, then you will enjoy this book.
