Even though this is made for a safe, I use it in my carry bag. The holster has a full side of hook so it attaches securely. The added bonus of the mag pocket works great and is accessible through the left-hand access in my carry bag. This purchase was my third attempt to find what worked and this holster fulfilled everything I wanted for my Taurus GX4 and H&K VP9.This was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Great product! The surface area of Velcro on this product is more than all others I looked at. & the hook n loop Velcro is strong. I have some heavy pistols that are holding very well. If your looking for individual holsters, to allow you to place them according to your specific needs of your safe, these are the ones. I’m impressed and will be buying more (when my inventory increases).Ordered the 10 pouch package from Amazon, June 2020. Made organizing my safe door pretty easy and I've always hated the brass plated hooks. Pouches provide some cushion to protect firearms. These are advertised to securely attach with Velcro. Probably attaches well to other safe doors. My safe door pistol board is covered with a felt material that Velcro can't stick to. I used a #8 wood screw with fabric washer to secure pouches to the pistol board (more secure than any Velcro). The large universal pistol pouch fits 1911's and full size Glocks very well. Several other pistols/revolvers sank very deep in the pouch with barrel sticking way out. I made a few stitches with heavy nylon thread to custom fit each pouch to my handguns. Stitches are tied on back and can easily be removed if I want to rearrange guns on the door. You have to plan on keeping enough room with pouches above and below each other for easy removal and not banging pistol sights and exposed barrels. Overall I recommend this product.The product is a fantastic idea. I love the concept and they mostly work well. A couple issues. With a Glock 17, the pistol is wide so the velcro side of the holster does not make flush contact with the safe lining. With a 1911, the pistol is thin enough that the velcro makes better contact but the weight of the pistol makes the holster pull away from the lining. Though neither of my pistols have fallen, the velcro is not as tight to the lining as I would prefer. Also the elastic band for the magazine is a bit tight for both styles of 9mm mags.I love the product overall and really hope to see future iterations that enhance the vision.I really like the design with the holder for the extra magazine that comes with most handguns. The carpeting on my safe door has too small a nap and they would not stick. They appeared to be well made. but the just would not work for me. Their customer service was very understanding and authorized the return without any problems. If they offered these with a 2 piece vendor, one of which would mount to the door with screws it would be perfect. Their only other option is a molle system attachment. If you already have a molle system it would be great, but they are expensive and come with things I don't need.I just received this and, it appears well made but, it almost swallows my Beretta 92FS. For a gun safe, with correct lining, this would be perfect with gobs of velcro.However, the description states:*"guaranteed to keep your biggest and baddest handguns stuck to any carpeting you want to stick it to"*.... Not necessarily true. I tried to attach it inside my car (like one person did), which has fuzzy carpeting and, it would not stick at all. Various other carpets: nothing.It appears to only stick to velcro like material and then, WOW, does it stick.I was hoping it would work in the car but, will keep it because I can use it in my courier bag which has a velcro lining. The only problem now is if I need to take the holster out of the bag or reposition it .. big problem! it is stuck in there good!!!Perfect. Velcro along the entire back. Holds onto the inside of my safe door like it's glued on. I have a S&W SDV9E with a fully loaded(16 rounds) mag and an extra fully loaded mag in this holster, and it hasn't dropped or moved at all. I am in and out of the safe frequently. I am confident that I finally found a product that does what it is supposed to do. Highly recommend. About the size of the holster: I'll give you the three examples that you need. The S&W SDV9E is considered a "compact" because of it's 4" barrel, but it is not a small pistol. It fits very securely in this holster. I put my Beretta 92FS(full sized pistol) in this holster and it fit like a glove. I put my S&W M&P Shield in this holster and the holster swallowed it up. In short, full sized and compact, yes. Sub-compact, I wouldn't buy this OR I would buy it and add a few stitches to modify the opening size.Very good for it's designed purpose, e.g., attaching to the inside of the safe door. Well constructed and magazine pouch is a nice extra. I had hoped to use it in a OBC bag with velcro but the XDS 3.3" sits too deep in the holster to be readily accessible. That said, note that the safe door inside covering needs to be sufficiently dense to make the velcro attachment really secure, especially with the weight of a larger Beretta 92 or similar. Too, the distance between the inside of the door and the front edge of any interior shelving can be an issue requiring that the holster be mounted on the door so it fits "inside" the shelf space and not hit by the shelf edges.
