Our original Top Gun MA-1. is inspired by the official flight jacket worn by the U.S. Air Force and Navy pilots and ground crew during the 1950s. The lightweight nylon design allows you to wear the jacket open and be comfortable in warm weather. During cooler months, you could zip the jacket closed and be afforded ample protection against the cold conditions.
This jacket runs small. We usually recommend going up 1-2 sizes. Please review the size chart carefully to find the best fit.

First thing I want to address is sizing - I did size up, per I believe review recommendations, and it's fine. The jacket fits nicely, I could have gone with my regular size and I probably would have been fine with the exception of the bust (which isn't the end of the world for me, as I don't usually zip my jackets up all the way anyway). If you read the size chart well and measure yourself accurately, I think you'll be fine.NOW, LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS BEAUTIFUL JACKET! :)The craftsmanship is a lot nicer than I expected, especially since this jacket is a fraction of the price I've seen other online retailers selling replicas for. The patches are sewn down nicely, and I love the zipper details with the leather tabs and the propeller shape. Pockets on the jacket are very sturdy and decently sized - they feel very secure, and it doesn't feel like they're going to rip or anything funky. The overall fabric of the jacket is nice, it feels like it'll be a good all weather jacket, which I'm VERY excited about - the inside is quilted, and it's lined very nicely, so it's going to for sure keep you warm (as long as you layer accordingly if the weather you're facing is exceptionally cold).Another great feature is how the item is shipped to you. I am an absolute sucker for receiving items that were clearly packed with intent / purpose: they shipped this in a nicely sized box with Top Gun tissue wrapping, a sticker, and a personalized card thanking me for my purchase. I was elated, because I wasn't expecting that with an Amazon purchase!Overall, as a huge fan of Top Gun who's been looking for flight jacket for awhile (and recently deciding I wanted a Maverick replica flight jacket), I am over the moon with this purchase. Absolutely beautiful jacket, great shipping speed - if you or someone you love is a Top Gun fan, this jacket is a must.
